  2. Group 3. What is Inquiry-Based Teaching.
-Inquiry means an act of asking information
-Helps students interact with each other
    -Explains the process of inquiry
-Teachers should challenge students to think far beyond a textbook
-Teachers aren't good because of what they do in a classroom for 6 hours, they're good because oh how they live their lives 24 hours a day.

  3. Group 6: Commonalities of Inquiry

Authenticity- All inquiry learning is real- or as real as it can be in the context of a school. Learning outside of school is so successful.
The work space- A space that is about open investigations does not look like a traditional classroom. OUTISDE SCHOOL INQUIRY-TYPE activities, such as workshops, book clubs and museums are some.
Asking questions- Questions fuel the inquiry (along with big ideas and goals).
Investigations- Once we have a question or a set of questions (and the teacher has determined the big ideas) we want to investigate that question.
Real-world Resources- Imagine you want to learn about the Vietnam War. you can use real sources you can find in the world, including books and articles.
Multiple Perspectives and Multiple Answers- Stimulating arguments are a by-product of an inquiry classroom because an inquiry-based classroom challenges students to see an issue from multiple perspectives and to answer questions that do not have one correct answer- and both are habits of mind that are vital in a democracy.
Dialogue and discussion- Inquiry learning cannot happen in an academic culture of silence.
Creating- Inquiry-based classrooms are busy with learners writing stories, newspapers, magazines, and speeches.
Agency- Taking control of your own mental activity.
Discovery- sense of discovery, (tinkering) Along with discovery, playfulness, and tinkering, inquiry benefits from another void in our classrooms.
The skills and tools of inquiry- teach the skills of inquiry, while this includes proficiency in finding resources and doing "library" type research, inquiry also includes collecting and analyzing data, developing observation skills, interviewing and surveying, technical and creative writing skills...ect.

It's basically talking about teachers and their failure to teach our generations the right way. Instead they are teaching the easy way taking the imagination out of students. It is a natural role for us to just do what they say without them letting us give our own opinion or expression.

  5. group 2:What is inquired-based teaching?
    • What the students learned in high school don’t remember what they learned.
    • If they want students to learn about the topic they should make learning more interesting rather than being lecture for 45 min
    • Schools teaching hasn’t been change since the past
    • If teachers want to see improvement classrooms should have a more active environment, and actually have students investigate questions and engage in the topic.

  6. Group 6: student initiated inquiry
learning outside of a classroom or besides reading or studying from a book is also helpful to a student. these "exploratory" classes help students expand in what they're learning.
    What about content?
there's a difference between asking questions and just sitting there during lecture, by asking question students understand what their teachers are talking about. State standards don't force teachers to teach from a textbook.
    Moving forward
the first thing we got to do is help our teachers stop looking at themselves as curriculum deliverers and change the curricular a bit as in involving questions or discussions so students have the knowledge about the subject.
